The course includes the following topics: - Safety systems - Safety culture - Statistics in legal, health and safety - History of health and safety - Safety structure: Organisation - Safety processes: Standards, policies and procedures, - Risk assessment and management, - Policy support and reinforcement, - Toolbox topics - Job safety analyses - Safe working procedures - Health topics: Fatigue management, Noise - Incident investigation - Legal framework - Environmental aspects associated with LHS Study Goals After completing this module, students will be able to: 1. explain and describe the importance of Health and safety management in the resources industry 2. find and apply legal requirements and applicable international standards 3. apply knowledge of safety procedures and standards in the field 4. prepare a job hazard analysis and risk assessment and develop mitigation and safety procedures 5. set up an incident investigation
